About
Flitto is a crowdsourcing translation platform where over 5+million users from 170 different countries share their translations. You can request translations as you need or become a translator if you can speak more than one language. You can read various content, such as celebrity's social media, Contents, e-commerce deals, and more, all in your native language.
Because all the translations are human-powered, the quality of the translations is greater than those of machine translation. Flitto is particularly useful when it comes to translating slang, dialect, and colloquial sayings.
We currently support 25 languages: English, Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Polish, Czech, Malay, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Thai, Hindi, Turkish, Swahili and Finnish. If you want to suggest us languages you want to have on Flitto, please send us an e-mail to help@flitto.com.
Flitto can be used not only on the website (www.flitto.com), but can be used on the mobile when you install the application available for Android, iOS smartphones and iPad.
Reading celebrity's social media, contents or to translate is all free on Flitto. However, you need Flitto Points to request translations. You can purchase or earn Points by translating requests and content on Discovery.
Account
Please send us an e-mail including your current username and new username at help@flitto.com. If the new username you would like to use is available, we will change it for you. This e-mail must be sent from the e-mail address registered on Flitto to be processed.
You can change your password by clicking the "Change" button on "Settings".
E-mail validation is a procedure to confirm it's the actual e-mail address of the user. When you sign up, a validation e-mail will be sent to you. When you click the link included in the e-mail, you can validate your e-mail address. (Please check the spam box as well.) If you click on "Resend email" on Settings, a validation e-mail will be resent. Please let us know at help@flitto.com if you have problem with this process.
Select 'Forgot password?' from the log-in screen and enter the e-mail address you have signed up on Flitto; a temporary password will be sent you via e-mail.
Please send us an e-mail to help@flitto.com with your Flitto username, current e-mail address, and the new e-mail address. This e-mail must be sent from the e-mail address you have registered on Flitto to be processed.
You must select your available languages from "My languages" to receive translation requests related to the languages.
Flitto will send push notifications to show your updates from the social media accounts you're following, and other users' translation requests. You can turn on or off push notifications on "Settings".
You can delete your account by going on to "Settings" - "Delete my account". Please note you cannot retrieve your account once it has been deleted; all the user information including points and translations will be removed as well.

Request
1. Crowdsourced Translation

(Website)
1. Sign Up and/or Login. Either click the ""Request"" button or select one of the four request types. (Audio / Real-time Image request is only available in mobile App).
2. Type in the text or upload an image.
3. Select language pairs (Source and target language)
4. Select Points (You can either 'Buy points' or use ""Free Request"". Two free requests are given to newly signed up users).
5. Track your request in the 'Dashboard' once you complete the request by clicking 'Translation Request'.
6. Select one translation out of all received translations (selected translator will receive the points so please select the translation). If you do not select a translation, a translation will be automatically selected either by the system rules or by Flitto managers. If you find any inappropriate translations, please contact us at help@flitto.com and we will cancel the request and refund the points.

(App)
1. Sign Up and/or Login. Click on the side menu icon on the top left corner and see what mode it is in. If it says 'Requestor Mode' on the bottom, it means you are currently in the translator mode so click on it to switch to change the mode.
Either type in the text or upload the image for translation request and select language pair.
2. Select Points (You can either 'Buy points' or use ""Free Request"". Two free requests are given to newly signed up users).
3. Double check the language, points and options then click ""Send"". You will receive a push notification when a translation arrives.
4. Select one translation out of all received translations (selected traslator will receive the points so please select the translation).

*FREE Request
Two free requests are given to newly signed up users, where one of the two is available when you share Flitto on your social network. One free request is given to every user each month when he/she shares Flitto on their social network. Free request is only available for text under 260 characters or a single image.

Please note that free image request points are set to 300 points for translators. Therefore, we strongly recommend to request an image that contains less than 100 characters. There is a high chance of not receiving translation or your request could be reported. If you need to request an imager with more than 100 characters, we would appreciate if you could buy points and request it with the recommended points.

2. 1:1 Pro Translation

Flitto 1:1 Pro Translation request is only available on the website. (You'll be notified through Flitto App when an estimate or a chat message arrives from the translator).
1. Sign Up and/or Login. Click ""Request"" button located under ""1:1 Pro Translation > Service""
2. Type in the text or upload a file (One file upto 20MB, Check list of supported type files under the upload box)
3. Choose the language pair, deadline, memos, specialty and select translators you would like to request.
4. Click 'Request for estimate' to complete the requests. You'll receive push notification via web and app when the estimate arrives.
5. When an estimate arrive, check the translator's profile and estimate, select one estimate and procedd with payment (ONLY via credit card/Paypal).
6. Direct 1:1 chat is available when the payment is complete. Freely communicate with the translator for any additional requests.
7. 'Approve' the translation if you're satisfied and 'Reject approval' if you are not. You can also request for revision by selecting 'Revision request'.

** (Important) About Waiting time

When you request for estimate to various translators, the waiting hours differ by the selected deadline.
For deadline more than 36 hours from the requested time, the waiting hour is 12 hours. But if the deadline is below 36 hours, then the waiting time is one third of the total hours remaining till the deadline. The request will be automatically canceled if you don't receive any estimates or if you don't choose one of the arrived estimates and complete the payment until the waiting hours.
(Ex. If the deadline is in 3hrs, the request will be canceled in 1hr if no estimates arrive or the payment is not complete).

Yes, not only texts but also recorded voice and images are supported for translation requests. Voice translation request is supported only on the mobile application.
Yes, a "Long text" translation request is available on the website for text over 260 characters.
Points are price for your translation. You will get better and faster translation when you request with more Points. When requesting for a translation, recommended Points will be shown. You can set Points higher than the recommended Points considering the level of difficulty and urgency of your request. Also, we'd like to inform you in advance that if you offer points that are way too lower than the recommended, there might not be a translator for your request.
Flitto is a crowdsourcing translation platform, not a machine translation service. Thus, we have Points system to reward the translators who uses their language skills to help others. In case you do not select a translation within 36-48 hours of your translation request, an auto-selection will be done to select best translation. This is also an action prevents the problem of receiving a translation without selecting a translation from a request.
We recommend you to select based on the number of recommendation each translation has received and level of translators. Moreover, if you click on a translator's profile, you can see their available languages and translation history on their MyPage.
Website: Select "Buy Points" from Settings or from "MyPage" - "Points" and choose a payment method to purchase Points.
Application: You can purchase points by in-app purchase or PayPal from "MyMenu" - "Points" - "Buy Points".
If your translation request includes unpleasant or inappropriate texts or offer a small amount of Points, you may be reported. Also, machine translation or plagiarism is considered as abusing Flitto's platform, so an action will be taken in accordance with 'Terms and Conditions of Service'. Actions disturbing other users' Flitto experience and harming other users and Flitto, which include giving wrong translation intentionally/mischievously may result in restrictions such as deducting points, banning the account, or accusing for interrupting business in accordance with user's agreement.
In case there is an abnormal sentence, plagiarism, or machine translation, please click on the report button. You can also report the wrong translation at help@flitto.com. Actions disturbing other users' Flitto experience and harming other users and Flitto, including entering wrong translation intentionally/mischievously may result in restrictions such as recapturing points, deleting account, and accusing for interrupting business in accordance with user's agreement.
If you select "Keep request private" option, then the request will be hidden after the translation is selected. This option is only available when you select points higher than the recommended points. For long-text requests, this option will be only applicable for paragraphs that meet the requirement stated previously.
You can resend your translation by clicking on the "Request Again" button. Then the request will be sent to new set of translators. Nevertheless, in case you still do not get any translation within a certain period of time, your request gets canceled and the points will be returned.

Reasons why translators are not participating may vary including below:

- Too much texts
- Few points offered
- Difficulty of translation due to technical terms and archaic words.
- Images hard to identify the original texts
- Recorded file with unclear or inaccurate voice
For a more professional translation, we recommend 1:1 Pro Translation Service on our website.
Currently there is no function available to edit or cancel a translation request after it has been requested/selected. This is because translators need to manage their translation history, but we do delete translations in case of exposure of a real name or personal information upon request. We recommend the 1:1 Pro Translation Service on our website for a more professional and personal translation request.
Flitto QR code can be used by all Flitto users.
QR code is created for completed translation request. Try using Flitto QR codes for restaurant menu, exhibition, festival, or places that need translation. Tourists and people who need translation can simply scan the QR code to receive instant translation of the content.
There may be a variety of reasons why the requestor is not selecting a translation, but if a selection is not done after 36-48 hours, an auto-selection will be processed.

The auto-selection will be applied to the followings:
(a) Text request with more than 2 translations,
(b) Image request with more than 3 translations (excludes translations with reports).

For those translations that haven't been processed by the auto-selection after 7days, they will be reviewed by Flitto's language professionals for selection, or 2nd auto-selection will be processed.
Translate
Add 1 or more languages you can translate from Settings or MyPage. When there is a new translation request, a notification will let you know. Even when there is no translation request, you can follow your favorite social media accounts and content curators or translate the contents as well.
1. Crowdsourced translation: When your translation gets selected you can not only help the requestor but also earn Points the request offers.

2. Discovery: By translating your favorite celebrity's social media updates and contents on Discovery (Social, Contents), you can help overseas users to read them. *Points will no longer be given for Discovery and Store translation starting 18th Oct. 2017 due to too much abusive behavior(e.g. usage of machine translation) that exceeds our management capacity.

- Click "Bring more requests" to see new requests
- If there is an ongoing Event, you'll be able to see "Event" menu tab on the top to participate

- Make sure you are set as a translator. Click on the side menu icon on the top left corner and see what mode it is in. If it says 'Translator Mode' on the bottom, it means you are currently in the requestor mode so click on it to switch to change the mode.
- Click on the Wing icon on the right to view social accounts of famous celebrities and various contents and participate in translation

* In order to participate in Crowdsourced translation, you need to take the Level 1 test.

* More request notifications are sent to users who frequently access Flitto mobile app. Don't worry if you receive only a few notification at first. You'll gradually receive more as you actively participate.

* If there are few requests or many translators access Flitto at the same time, there might be few new requests when you click on "Bring more requests".

You can earn Points only when your translation gets selected from "Request".
Points from translations for translation requests are given only when the requestor select your translation.
A translation you enter for a translation request can be edited only within 5 minutes once you post it. This is because a notification goes to the requestor immediately once a translator posts a translation, so editing is only available for a short period of time. Translations on Discovery (Social, Contents) and store can be edited or deleted any time after entering.
There may be a variety of reasons why the requestor is not selecting a translation, but if a selection is not done after 36-48 hours, an auto-selection will be processed.
In case you're using the app, please restart the Flitto application.
"Recommended" means a professional translator recommended your translation. More recommendation you receive, more chance your translation will be selected.

Flitto is 'human-powered' translation platform.
If for any reason a user does any behavior or action that hinders the overall, Flitto will take appropriate measures such as sending warning emails, point withdrawal or even deleting the account according to the Terms and Agreement.

The followings are considered as abusive behaviors:

1. Copy and paste machine translation
2. Inappropriate or inaccurate translation
3. Requesting translations and selecting your own translation to transfer points among your accounts
3. Points set too low compared to the content
4. Requesting private information (phone number, messenger etc)
5. Abusing reports
6. Copy & Paste links or emoticons in Discovery that does not need any translation
7. Abusing recommendations in Crowdsourced translation to simply earn points
8. Disrupting other services provided in the platform

* Using machine translation is considered as abusive behavior because it does not prove one's own language abilities. Therefore, copying and revising parts of machine translation will also be considered as abusive behavior.

* Flitto is a platform where users actually pay money for the translation service. Therefore, providing inaccurate translation results in liquidated damage to the requestors.

* In order to prevent any loss or damage to the requestor and/or translator, accounts can be deleted without prior notice at any time.

* Providing personal contact information is only allowed when there is a server error (i.e., not able to upload the translation file for 1:1 Pro translation)

In the previous system, requests had been sent to you based on the language pairs you've registered. But in the new level system, requests will be sent to you in your chosen languages.

e.g. If your native language is Korean, and you have chosen English and Japanese, you will get translation notifications for six language pairs (Korean ↔ English, Korean ↔ Japanese, and English ↔ Japanese) and proofreading notifications for one language (Korean).

If you do not wish to get notified for specific language, please deactivate the notification for such language in the settings.
In this case, you may not deactivate only one language pair.
e.g. If you turn off notifications for English, you won't get requests for all language pairs related with English.
Points
Points purchased and earned is an additional service provided by Flitto. Based on the terms of service agreement with a user, Flitto manages the point service after prescribing a system regarding the point acquisition/use/expiration.

1. Flitto applies the commercial prescription to the points. Flitto has set a valid period of 5 years (60 months) from the time of purchasing or earning them. Therefore, points that pass 60 months from the month of acquisition become expired under the basis of first-received, first-discarded. Points that are expired once cannot be restored.

2. When the point expiration period arrives, Flitto informs a user about the expiring points, date of expiration, etc., via an email address registered in the user's account a month prior to the period.

3. To check your point status, go to "My Page > Point / Payment."
You can request for a translation, purchase a variety of items, or donate with your Points. Also, you can cash-out your Points you have earned from Translation with PayPal.
When buying points through iPhone in-app purchase, if you see a Flitto error message after saying the purchase succedded, it means there was a termporary error. In this case, go back to the main screen and click on "Buy Points" under "Points" located in the side menu icon, you will see a message stating the payment was complete.
Web: Click on "Buy Points" when you click on your username on the upper right corner or when you are making a request. Payment is available using credit card or Paypal.
(Payment is available using credit card, phone, or bank transfer for users living in Korea.)

App: Click on "Points" located in the side menu icon and purchase points through in-app purchase.

*Purchased points to be used for requests only. Points used to purchase products in Store must be earned through translation.
Points are given according to your participation on Flitto. Earn Points from translating requests, social media posts or Contents. Of course, you can directly buy Points as well. You can buy points at the "Buy Points" menu on the translation request page.

Points available' shows only the available Points you can use (Points available = Total cumulative Points - Used Points)
Store
Store is where you can purchase a variety of products using the Points you earn from translation, donate for others, or cash it out.
Application: "Store" menu is available on "Translator Mode" for Android users, but this menu is not provided on iOS. For iOS users, please find Store from Flitto website (www.flitto.com).
Store payments are made by Points eared from translations or PayPal.
You can see the order history at My Orders. On the app, "My Orders" are on the Account tab.
You can donate using your points at the store. Select the "Donation" category at the store to see the list of donation projects.
Yes. If you donate, you can receive the official donation certificate issued by Plan, an international relief organization.

If you donate to the donation project by Plan, an international volunteer organization, you can get your volunteer hours certified at Plan Korea. (Korean ONLY)
The current Point system is used due to the transaction fees of payment gateways (PGs) and overall service running fee. For example, transaction fees are caused when users make payments for their translation requests or cashing out through several payment gateways.
When the payment cannot be checked from your PayPal account, the following reasons can be considered.

・Registered/Ordered with the wrong email address (PayPal account).
In this case, please let us know immediately by sending an email with your username and correct PayPal account to help@flitto.com.

・Your PayPal account is not verified.
Many users assume that signing up an email address on PayPal will complete the registration. Please check if you have completed the whole verification process or you will not receive the payment from us as PayPal will be holding the payment for unregistered account. Please log in to PayPal and check your account status. If your account is not registered, you need to confirm your PayPal account by going through their verification process (such as registering your bank account or credit card). The confirmation of verification process usually takes few business days, and you will receive the payment after. If you do not receive payment even after the verification is completed, please email to help@flitto.com with your username and the details.
You can cash it out after you collect 50,000 Points or more by valid translation activities.

*Please note that it can take about a week to be processed when there is a large number of orders.
1:1 Pro
1:1 Pro Service uses direct payment between the requestor and translator/proofreader. You can receive a translation/proofreading that is more professional and consistent with 1:1 Pro Service.
Yes. You can upload multiple files at a time by uploading a zip file. The maximum file size is 50MB, same with the other file formats.

For your information, you can also upload a zip file when you want to upload a reference file after you have been matched with the translator/proofreader.

However, please note that asking extra translation/proofreading by uploading a reference file or via chatting message is prohibited.

* Pro translator/proofreader can refuse to translate for any new added/edited origin content during translating.
Uploading link is also considered as "text" requests, which results in inaccurate estimate prices. Therefore, we recommend uploading a word file with the link typed in and specify the location of the link in the memo box, or upload any file and type the link in the memo box. Flitto is planning to support website links in the future.
Flitto currently supports credit card, phone, bank transfer (South Korea only) as payment methods. Payment for 1:1 Pro is only available on the web. You can proceed with payment after checking the received estimates from various translators/proofreaders.

There are two types of refunds: (1) Cancellation of the request (2) Occurrence of an issue that needs Flitto's final confirmation.

1) Cancellation of the request
- If the translator/proofreader does not upload the translation/proofreading within the deadline. (Deadline extension is available through 1:1 chat with the translator/proofreader)
- If the translator/proofreader cannot continue with the translation/proofreading for various reasons (submitted wrong estimate, personal reason, etc.)

2) Occurrence of an issue that needs Flitto's final confirmation
- If the translation/proofreading is not satisfactory, the requestor can select "Reject approval". In this case, Flitto's monitoring team will review the translation/proofreading and decide if the requestor's call is legit.

3) If the requestor change's mind with no reason and wants to cancel the request after the translation/proofreading starts, refund request will not be accepted.

4) If the translator/proofreader gives up on translation/proofreading or gets lost in contact(i.e. no response in chat), the pro translator/proofreader status will be suspended and deleted if necessary.

**** Caution in a refund for payment made through phone (Important!)

Due to the telecommunication company's policy, a refund is only available when canceled before the end of the month at midnight. Cancellation is not available afterward, and the requestor will be responsible for additional fees when canceled then.
Also, since the help center is closed during the weekends, please contact us on weekdays if the last day of the month falls on a weekend.


Refund will be processed within 7 days, and it may defer depending on the credit card or telecommunication company.
The translator/proofreader cannot upload the translation/proofreading past the deadline, so the requestor needs to decide whether to extend the deadline or cancel the request. If the requestor decides to extend the deadline, the translator/proofreader is able to upload the translaion. If the requestor decides to cancel it, the money will be refunded.
If you cannot find the translator/proofreader that you previously worked with in the Translator/proofreader list or under the Favorite list, it could be due to one of the following reasons:

1. The translator/proofreader did not complete the authorization process (Agree to the Terms and Conditions, verify phone number)
2. The translator/proofreader was banned for unprofessional actions/manners
3. The translator/proofreader is no more a user of Flitto

*Verification of phone number is only applicable for translators/proofreaders in South Korea or China. Translators/proofreaders in other countries need only to enter their phone number."
Previously, you would contact "translator@flitto.com" to apply for the test. Now you can do the whole process on our website! You can take tests for 4 language sets maximum at once, and the results will be sent via e-mail within 20 business days. If you pass your test, you are asked to agree with our terms of service on your "My Page". After registration processes are completed, you will be given the "PRO" level, and you will be entitled to such activities as 1:1 Pro Translation, Crowdsourced Translation, and recommending other translators' translations. You may take a re-test for the language pair you have failed at after 6 months of receiving the result.
1. Who will evaluate the tests?

1:1 Professional Translator tests are evaluated by the team of professional native speakers and experts with over 10 years of relevant language experience.

2. Test evaluation criteria and tips

We will be checking on your level of understanding for the original text, use of grammar, readability, typos, etc.
When translating, you must search and use the proper nouns (such as a name of school, place, center, company, famous person, etc.).
Weights and measures should be converted to the measurement system of the country in which the language is used. (Example: For English to Korean translation, you should change ‘lb’ to ‘kg’, and for Korean to English translation, change ‘pyeong’ to ‘m2’.)
You will be disqualified for turning in a test using or editing with machine translation.

3. When will the test result come out?

The test result will be sent by email within 20 Business days. Please understand that we do not disclose the score details of each criterion used for evaluation.

Note: If there's 1 language pair in review, you can not apply for another language pair.
If you are rejected in 1 language pair, you may take a re-test for the language pair you have failed at after 6 months of receiving the result.
We expect that you have any of the following three qualifications:

1. Linguistic degree holders
2. At least 2 years of translation and/or interpretation experience
3. More than 5 years of living in foreign countries

Nevertheless, if you submit an application form and successfully pass the test, you can become a 1:1 Pro Translator regardless of the criteria described above.
"Register as 1:1 Pro translator" button only appears when you have not registered any language pair at all in My Page.
Therefore, if you have applied and passed one language pair, the button will disappear from then. In order to apply for another pair, please refer to the steps below listed in the "I want to apply for 1:1 Pro translator for another language pair. What should I do?" question.
Please refer to the steps below:
1. Log in to Flitto webite and click the username on the top right corner
2. Select "Edit Profile"
3. Click "1:1 Pro Info" Tab
4. Click "Add language pair" in the "Language Pair" box
5. Select the language pair you want to apply then click "PRO test"

Note: If there's 1 language pair in review, you can not apply for another language pair.
You may take a re-test for the language pair you have failed at after 6 months of receiving the result.
1. A detailed profile is a plus!
When requestors select the translator/proofreader manually, they tend to look at the translator/proofreader's profile and resume in detail. Don't forget to fill out all the necessary parts to portray yourself!

2. Participate in crowdsourced translation/proofreading through Flitto App
Many requestors use the 'automatic selection' when selecting a translator/proofreader. In this case, Flitto selects 20 translators/proofreaders who recently accessed Flitto. Therefore, we strongly recommend you to actively participate in Flitto in any form (crowdsourced, 1:1 Pro or Discovery). Your recent activity status is based on your activity in Flito App so download it now!
1. Submit an appropriate estimate price
If the price is too low or too high, there is a low chance of getting selected. Wrong estimate price will be mistaken as a wrong estimate, which will lose trust from the requestor.

2. Try explaining the reason for the price you called
Requestors tend to compare the price to the received estimates from various translators/proofreaders, not from the general market price. Therefore, although the price may be adequate, it may seem higher in Flitto platform. So additional explanation in the memo is highly suggested.

3. Send the estimate ASAP
The maximum hour the requestor has to select an estimate and proceed with payment is 12 hours. (For deadline more than 36 hours from the requested time, the waiting hour is 12 hours. But if the deadline is below 36 hours, then the waiting time is one-third of the total hours remaining until the deadline. Ex. If a deadline is 3hrs, the waiting hour is 1hr).

*Revision to the submitted estimate is not possible. Make sure to double-check the number before submitting.
If the translation/proofreading is not approved within 7 days of completion, it will be automatically approved for 1:1 Pro.
In case of final approval rejection, the procedure for arbitration begins, and the arbitration team that consists of experts within Flitto will review the case.
Currently only 1:1 Pro notification and 1:1 Message function are available on the application.
When registering as a 1:1 Pro Translator/Proofreader you are required to register your validated PayPal account as well, so you can receive payment directly to your PayPal account.
When the payment cannot be checked from your PayPal account, the following reasons can be considered.

・Registered/Ordered with the wrong email address (PayPal account).
In this case, please let us know immediately by sending an email with your username and correct PayPal account to help@flitto.com.

・Your PayPal account is not verified.
Many users assume that signing up an email address on PayPal will complete the registration. Please check if you have completed the whole verification process or you will not receive the payment from us as PayPal will be holding the payment for unregistered account. Please log in to PayPal and check your account status. If your account is not registered, you need to confirm your PayPal account by going through their verification process (such as registering your bank account or credit card). The confirmation of verification process usually takes few business days, and you will receive the payment after. If you do not receive payment even after the verification is completed, please email to help@flitto.com with your username and the details.
You will be receiving all the translation/proofreading fee excluding PayPal's transaction fee (around 5%).

Arcade
At Flitto Arcade, you can participate in translation, proofreading, dictation and transcription and earn points.
The points earned can be used in the Flitto Store.
You can participate in various activities such as translation, proofreading, dictation and transcription in your native or selected language. The higher your level, the more points you earn.

Translation
Earn points by translating the given sentences.

Proofreading
Evaluate the accuracy of the given translation, and correct it. You can earn points faster if you correct the translation.

Dictation / Transcription
You can earn points by dictating/transcribing the text in a given image, video or audio.

The points earned in Arcade can be exchanged by various items in Flitto Store or redeemed in cash.
In Arcade, you can earn points only for sentences that have passed the final review.
Only the intermediate or higher level users whose levels have been verified can participate in proofreading.
So the lead time to the final review depends on the number of users capable of proofreading and the number of sentences to be proofread.
Since August 26, 2020, the point reward system has been changed to reward varying amounts of points based on the sentence and user level. The points rewarded will differ depending on the format and level of the sentence or Arcade Card.
Also, more points will be rewarded, the higher the level.
- Use of machine translation (including post-editing)
- Submitting incorrect translation or proofreading without checking sentences in an attempt to submit large volumes of translation and proofreading in a short time to earn more points (* no daily limits)
- Submitting content unrelated to translation or inappropriate/incomplete content without carefully observing the precautions for the Arcade
- Use of multiple accounts, etc.

If your account is suspended even if you have never made any errors, please check for email sent to your email. Then, please contact our customer center (help@flitto.com) with your ID for more information.
Our staff will answer you after checking your history.
If abnormal activity is detected in your account, participation in the Arcade will be suspended as below.
1st: 24-hour suspension
2nd: 2-week suspension
3rd: permanent suspension

* After confirming submission, you may face a more severe penalty, such as deduction of points or withdrawal of the account, depending on the severity of the abuse.

If your account is suspended even if you have never made any errors, please check for email sent to your email. Then, please contact our customer center (help@flitto.com) with your ID for more information.

In the Arcade, a sentence will be validated by several users to increase the accuracy of proofreading.
Nevertheless, if the validation is not correct, you can submit a claim in the 'My Activities' menu in the Arcade, for the following reasons.
1. My translation is correct.
2. The source text contains an error.
3. The proofread text contains an error.
4. Other

* Complaints will be checked by Flitto's native speaking team.
If you've been unexpectedly prevented from participating in the Arcade, it may be because there are no cards to participate, several users have logged in momentarily, or you have repeatedly skipped cards.
If an abnormal behavior has been detected in your account, your participation in the Arcade will be suspended, and a guidance email will be sent to your account.
If you were unexpectedly prevented from participating in the Arcade, check your mailbox first.

* If your account is linked with Facebook, please check your mailbox linked to your Facebook account.
Event
For Translation Events:
The rate of translations validated by our team must be higher than what event guideline states. A lower rate will cause the withdrawal from the event.
You will still receive points for translations validated by our services before your banishment.

For Voice recording Events:
You have to pass the recording test first to be able to participate. Flitto specialists will review your test. While they are reviewing your test you can still continue to participate in the event. However, failing the test will cause the withdrawal from the event and you will get no points for the event.

- Points will be given after the translations are reviewed and validated by Flitto specialists. While reviewing, if the validation rate falls below 60%, the review will stop and all remaining translations will be banned; however, points for the previously validated translations will be given.

- Requesting translations and selecting your own translation to transfer your points among your accounts is strictly prohibited.

- Use of machine translation will result in the withdrawal from the event.

- Double check for any typos or grammar mistakes: punctuation, tense and incorrect verb conjugations, etc.

For Voice recording event:

- Only Native speakers can participate for voice recording event.

- One person can participate with only one account.
(Using multiple accounts will result in banning from the event)

- Recorded files will be reviewed randomly within 1~2 business days and will be disqualified if it matches any of the followings: loud background noises, improper pronunciation, and tempo. Points will not be given and the user will be withdrawn from the event.

- Each event has its own guidelines so please make sure to read them before starting. Any recordings done against the guideline will be banned from the event and points will not be given.

Level System
Instead of the previous system with language pairs, your level is now decided according to your choice for the native language and chosen language(s).
e.g.
Previous: Korean - English (intermediate), English - Korean (intermediate), Korean - Japanese (beginner)
New: Native language - Korean / English - Intermediate, Japanese - Beginner

For current users, the following levels will be applied.
1. Native: Language chosen as native (no level)
2. Source language is intermediate (verified), and target language is as in the previous language set.
e.g.
Previous: Korean -> English (advanced)
New: Korean (intermediate (verified), English (advanced (verified))
3. Levels for beginner language set pair will be beginner for both source and target languages.
4. If there are two levels for one language at the same time, the higher level will be applied.
e.g.
Previous: Korean -> English (fluent), English -> Korean (advanced)
New: English (fluent(verified)), Korean (advanced(verified))

You can choose your own level for a language.
The level of the new language is not verified. It will be verified with the level test, platform activities, etc.
Using Selected Languages, you can participate in crowdsourced translation and Arcade translation in languages other than your native language.
My Page - You can select the language and its level.
You can choose up to three languages and modify up to three times a month.
You can select the language and its level in My Page - Seleted Languages.
The level of the new selected language is not verified, and will be verified based on the result of an online test, platform activities, etc.

The criteria for new levels are as follows.
- Fluent: Verified by activity
- Advanced: Verified by activity
- Intermediate: Online test
- Beginner: No verification required
* Not verified: Level that has not been verified yet

* Your level may be adjusted (upwards or downwards) manually by Flitto's monitoring team according to the overall quality of the translation you've given, regardless of the above criteria.
Previously, you could either like or report translations by simply clicking the button.
However, we noticed that oftentimes this system was abused by some users and thus we decided to replace it with something better. Instead of the like/dislike system, we have adopted a new system called the "recommendation" system. Only 1:1 Pro translators can recommend other translators' translations. 1:1 Pro Translators have passed our official translation test, and therefore, their recommendation can be trusted. Each 1:1 Pro Translator can recommend only one translation per request, and this is to prevent the system from being abused. If the translation you recommend is chosen by the requester, you will be rewarded with 5% of the points assigned to it. (The maximum number of recommendations that a requested text can get is 20 in total. Please do not confuse it with "20 recommendations for each translation", which is not the case.)

From now on, requesters can pick with ease the best translation based on the number of recommendations; Each translation will say, "[X} number of translators recommend this translation", which makes it easy for requesters to check which has got most of the votes.

*The rate of the bonus points (currently 5%) is subject to change.
The concept of Crowdsourced Translation was born because many problems arose with machine
translation. Since its primary goal is to minimize mistranslations and machine-like poor quality
translations, you can't take part in Crowdsourced Translation unless you prove that you are eligible to provide good quality translations by taking the test. Note that each language set has its own separate test.
Those who

1) have been inactive for the past 6 months
2) have been involved in conflicts with their requesters due to reasons attributable to themselves
3) are considered to be unqualified

will be disqualified after the update. Now prospective 1:1 Pro Translators are required to take the test on our website, and you can retake it multiple times if you fail. Note that you have to wait 6 months until you get another chance

The answer is yes. It is to make sure that, when requesters can’t reach their translators online for some reason, we have an alternative contact.
- 1:1 Pro Translator will be given the level 'Pro', which is higher than the Crowdsourced Translator level system.

- While a Crowdsourced Translator can only participate in Crowdsourced Translation, 1:1 Pro Translators have the privilege to participate in 1:1 Pro Translations.

- If a Crowdsourced Translator for a given language pair passes the translation exam and becomes a 1:1 Pro Translator of the same language pair, the level for that language pair will be merged as 'Pro'.
You have to get all 4 out of 5 multiple-choice questions correct. If you fail the test, you have to wait 12 hours till you get another chance.
Recommendation System
- Recommendation is a feature in crowdsourced translation whereby a professional translator can 'recommend' a translation which is done by another translator.

- Note that only a professional translator of the given requested language pair can give the recommendation.

- A translation that has received a lot of recommendations will mean that the quality can be assured since it has been approved by professionals.

- Thus, it will help requestors in selecting the right translation and also strengthen the reliability of the translator level system.
- By recommending other translations in the crowdsourced translation, you can earn extra points.

- If you recommend a translation as a 1:1 Pro Translator and that translation gets selected, you will get rewarded accordingly.
Bonus points are given only if the translation you recommend is actually chosen by the requester or auto-selection. When it happens, we will let you know by sending a message to your Flitto application and to your account online.
It will be randomly determined based on the levels of translators and the amount of time spent on translating etc.
Each requested text (in the case of a lengthy text, each paragraph is considered a single request) has the maximum recommendation number limit of 20. (e.g. if there are two translations and each gets 10 recommendations, which amount to 20 in total, no more recommendations are possible). Note that you can't recommend your own translation.
Others
Flitto Business Page is an information and inquiry page for business users. A business user can inquire about large volume translation, estimates, timeframe, partnership with Flitto, and more.
